Who we are: WeightLossTracker (weightlosstracker.free and the WeightLossTracker app) is run by [your full name or company name], [country]. Contact: our contact form or freeweightlosstracker@gmail.com.
The short version
- No accounts. You never sign up, log in or give us your name.
- Your weight stays on your phone. Weights, photos, height and goals are saved only on your device. We can't see them.
- The app shows ads through Google AdMob, which uses some device data. You choose how.
- The website's calculators run in your browser. What you type isn't sent to us.
- We never sell your data.
1. The app
What stays on your device: your weight entries, before and after photos, height, goal, reminder time and unit choice. This is stored only on your phone. We have no server that receives it and no way to access it.
Export: if you use Export, the file is created on your phone and goes wherever you choose to send it.
Deleting your data: delete entries in the app, or uninstall it to remove everything. If your phone backs up apps to iCloud or Google, a copy may stay in that backup, which Apple or Google controls.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone. No data is sent to send them.
2. Ads in the app
The app is free because it shows a small ad, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, your IP address and approximate location based on it, device and app information such as model, operating system and language, and how you interact with ads.
Google uses this to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure results and prevent fraud. If you agree, it's also used to personalize ads.
Your choices: in the EEA, UK, Switzerland and some US states you'll be asked for consent before any ad is shown, and you can change it anytime in Settings → Privacy choices in the app. On iPhone you'll see Apple's tracking prompt, which you can change in iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

3. The website
Calculators: they run entirely in your browser. What you type (weight, height, age, measurements) is not sent to us or saved on a server.
Your unit choice (kg, lb or stone) is saved in your own browser so it's remembered next time. It isn't a cookie and isn't sent to us.
No tracking: the website has no analytics, no ad trackers and no cookies of its own.
Hosting: the site is hosted by Netlify, which processes technical data like your IP address, browser type and the time of your visit to deliver the site and keep it secure. Our domain's DNS is run by Cloudflare.
Fonts: the website loads its font from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
4. When you contact us
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your email address, topic and message. The form is processed by Netlify and delivered to our email. We use it only to reply and delete it within [12 months].
5. Health information
Weight and body measurements can be health information. We designed the app and website so this stays on your device or in your browser. We don't collect, store or share it.
6. Legal basis (EEA and UK)
Personalized ads: your consent, which you can withdraw anytime. Non-personalized ads and site hosting: our legitimate interest in keeping the service free, secure and working. Replying to messages: our legitimate interest in answering you.
7. Children
WeightLossTracker is for adults. It's not meant for anyone under [16]. If you think a child has contacted us, get in touch and we'll delete the message.
8. Where data goes
Google, Netlify and Cloudflare may process data in the United States and other countries, under their own safeguards for international transfers.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EU, UK, California and Thailand, you can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold, object to its use, or withdraw consent. Since we only hold messages you send us, most requests are about those. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
US states: personalized ads may count as "sharing" data under some state laws. You can opt out through the app's privacy choices or your phone's ad settings.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and post the new version here.
